This kinda song works for Wale, but Yo Gotti can’t really pull somethin’ like this off. That nigga Ne-Yo be singin’ like a motherfucker. Track 11: Respect That You Earn Feat. Ne-Yo & Wale (Prod. “She open her legs up happily / I ball hard like a athlete.” That’s what I’m talkin’ about when I call Yo Gotti’s bars generic. T.I.’s bars were way better than Yo Gotti’s generic shit. He definitely stole the show from Yo Gotti. He ain’t sayin’ shit, but he doin’ a good job of flowin’ over the beat. It’s way better than the last few tracks tho. He’s trying to show emotion in this song, but it just comes off as corny. He talks about how he’s fuckin’ a bunch of hoes in the beginning of his first verse, but then talks about being hurt when he sees pictures of other guys in his girl’s phone. I guess this is an attempt at being deep again. Meek Mill had a much better verse than Yo Gotti, but it still wasn’t very good. It’s got a lazy ass hook, uninteresting beat, generic ass flow, and offensive and lazy bars from Yo Gotti. Yo gotti decided to throw some autotune on his voice, even though all he ever says with it is “uh.” This shit is boring af. “You ain’t fuckin’ you ain’t suckin’ what you doin’ ho?” The way he speaks to women in this song feels like a slap in the face after seeing that Don’t Come Around video.

Sure, the producer’s name threw me off a little, but I didn’t really think it mattered. I thought this woulda been one of the deeper, more introspective songs on the album. Even the beat is nothing special honestly. The only good part of this song is the beat. He sounds like he’s strugglin’ to get his bars out. Rich Homie Quan sounds awful on this shit. 4 on the Billboard 200 and is certified gold, as well as 2013’s I Am, 2017’s I Still Am, and his most recent studio album, 2020’s Untrapped. This beat is cool I guess. These include his 2016 album, The Art of Hustle, which peaked at No. Beginning as an indie act, the Memphis legend gradually built his fan base and presence, eventually going major and releasing four Top 10 albums. 2021, has enjoyed a successful career since releasing his debut, From Da Dope Game 2 Da Rap Game, in 2000. Gotti, who dropped his latest single, “For The Record,” in Oct. With a roster that includes stars like Moneybagg Yo, 42 Dugg, and EST Gee, all of whom have stepped out of Gotti’s shadow and established themselves as fan favorites in their own right, CMG is regarded as one of the powerhouse imprints in rap today. While talk of retirement is far from a new trend for rap artists, given the overwhelming success of Gotti’s CMG label in recent years, it wouldn’t be hard to imagine the rapper-turned-mogul putting down the mic and dedicating his time to building and expanding CMG’s footprint within the music industry.
